COPD

About

COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is a progressive lung disease that makes it difficult to breathe. It is typically caused by long-term exposure to irritants such as cigarette smoke, air pollution, and chemical fumes. COPD is characterized by symptoms such as shortness of breath, chronic cough, and chest tightness. The disease can also cause frequent respiratory infections and fatigue.

Participants must be:

  • Male or non-pregnant female participants between 40 to 75 years,
  • Current or ex-smokers,
  • Able to perform spirometry.
